Our philanthropy advising business is led by Jamie Forbes. A Charter Advisor of Philanthropy (CAP®), Jamie focuses on helping both individuals and companies explore and identify how they can connect their own personal or business interests and passions while also creating a positive impact in the world. His upbringing in the sixth generation of a large, Boston family informs his approach, providing an understanding and sensitivity to all the factors that are involved in the process of decisions.
Whether it’s managing complex family dynamics, multiple generational challenges, establishing individual identity within the context of the larger family legacy, or engaging children in the philanthropic process, Jamie focuses on the individuals and and their interests while also keeping the larger family objectives in mind. His work with corporate philanthropy clients focuses on connecting their business strategy and interests to investments in the nonprofit sector.
Together with his wife, Jamie helped his daughters discover their ability to change the lives of others in an elementary school on the Caribbean Island of Dominica. What began as a family vacation turned into 7 years of visiting, planning, collecting books, shipping them, soliciting donations and hiring local craftsmen to build shelves. The result was a library that also opened to the town residents for their use.
